Join us for a weekend of Gypsy Jazz!

Come out this November 11th and 12th for a weekend of lively music brought to you by two great bands.

On November 11th, we’re hosting a double concert featuring the Rhythm Future Quartet and the Aaron Walker Quartet.

Led by violinist Jason Anick and guitarist Olli Soikkeli, the Rhythm Future Quartet performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse international rhythms and musical idioms. With Max O’Rourke on second guitar and Greg Loughman on bass, Rhythm Future is dedicated to expanding the boundaries of a vital musical genre.

Our opening band, the Aaron Walker Quartet, was created with the desire to form a group without musical compromise. The core trio travels together and picks up a fourth player out of pool of the highest caliber international artists in the world.

The following morning, we’ll be hosting a music workshop where you can practice and play along with the band. Focusing on violin, gypsy guitar, rhythm guitar, and upright bass, this workshop will allow you to pick up some tips and tricks from some of the top musical talent out there. In addition, you’ll learn how each instrument works within a gypsy jazz ensemble. Bring your own instrument if you’d like to play along, or come without and follow along with the lessons. We’ll wrap the day up with an Open Jam from 1:30-3:00pm, led by our workshop students.
