Colorado Plein Air Exhibition
The Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) is pleased to present a special exhibition of selected works from the Colorado Plein Air Arts Fest. This exhibit coincides with the festival held this past year and features artworks created en plein air—created outside from the landscape. Featured artworks were created at events held specifically for the festival as well as other plein air pieces created within the past year. The festival and corresponding exhibitions are open to both painting and photography. Thirteen artists in two different categories (emerging artists and professional artists) were honored at an opening reception at the Denver Public Library on November 12, 2013. Kevin Weckbach won Best of Show and Kathy Imel won First Place for Emerging Artists.
In the spirit of plein air, CAE will offer “Landscape Painting on Location” workshop with Stacey Peterson on May 14-16, 2014. This is a 3-day workshop for painters wanting to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of outdoor painting. Each day will include a demo and painting on location. Call 303.674.0056 for registration and more information.
The Colorado Plein Air Exhibit runs from January 10 to January 24, 2014. An opening reception will be held Sunday, January 10, 2014 from 4-7pm. Center for the Arts Evergreen is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm and Saturdays 12pm-5pm.Visit Event Website for More Info
