Description:

Why is Fracking Such a Hot Topic?

What’s all the fuss about hydraulic fracturing? Why is the oil and gas industry touting this process as the answer to energy independence? Why are so many citizens concerned about it and why have some banned it in their locale? The nonpartisan Jefferson County League of Women Voters will discuss this controversial issue at its meeting in the Evergreen area on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9:15 a.m. at Highland Rescue Team Ambulance Service, 317 S. Lookout Mountain Rd. Call Ellen at 303-526-7446 for more information about this meeting. All meetings are open to the public – regardless of party affiliation.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.
