She blends both psychological and spiritual perspectives so issues can be addressed holistically in a safe and supportive environment. She helps people explore and resolve obstacles to growth and well-being. Suzanne has training and experience as a child and family therapist. Play Therapy is one technique she uses with children. Through the medium of play, which is the child’s natural medium of expression, the child is able to deal with and heal issues that are getting in the way of normal development. She is a certified grief recovery specialist and equine-assisted psychotherapist. This ordained minister and graduate of the Unity School of Religious Studies also is the author of “All Children Are Gifted: Raising Spiritually Aware Children.” She has completed experiential and psychodrama training. 720-540-6738www.unitywholenesscenter.com 2nd Place WinnerKids Being Kids Portraits Amy Johnson is a popular children’s photographer in the Evergreen and Conifer area. She has been an avid photographer since earning money for her first camera in eighth grade. But it wasn’t until the birth of her children that children’s portrait photography became a passion. Amy currently has displays in the front lobby of the renovated Wulf Recreation Center (formerly called the Evergreen Recreation Center) and in the lower level of the Buchanan Recreation Center in Evergreen. Her work was featured on the August 2006 cover of Mountain Connection and on several covers of the Evergreen Recreation District schedule. A big part of her life is charity work. She loves to take pictures for Colorado Heart Gallery, which displays photos of kids who are having a difficult time getting adopted. 303-674-6149www.kidsbeingkids.com 3rd Place WinnerMountain Area Midget Football Association Mountain Area Midget Football Association participates in the Jefferson County Midget Football Association. Teams are offered to players in second through eighth grades. Weight limits exist for backfield players, with mandatory minimum playing times for each player. Games are usually held on Saturday although there may be the exceptional weeknight game depending on need for scheduling. The home games are held at Buchanan Field (60 yard), Evergreen High School (100 yard) or Conifer High School (100 yard). The remaining games are scheduled on other Jefferson County fields.
